Repairs

We can repair most PCs. There is a £5 charge to investigate the problem and give a quote for a repair, which is refundable against the cost of the repair. Please contact the computer department before bringing a machine in, so we can advise you on what you need to do. We can use reclaimed (depending on availability) or new parts in the repair as preferred.

We do not usually repair laptops as they are a highly specialist repair - each laptop model is unique to the manufacturer and they often require specialist knowledge and parts and the repair is very time consuming. Be warned that most national laptop repair firms charge in the region of £150 plus parts (minimum) - and if the machine is more than 2-3 years old they may not be able to do anything anyway. However, if the fault is simply a faulty memory module or hard disk etc., we may be able to help. Contact us and we may be able to advise you.

Please note we do not repair monitors or printers - it is simply uneconomic to do this as in nearly all cases the cost of repair is greater than either the current value of the equipment or purchasing a new replacement. In addition, spares are usually unavailable.
